{"id":1621,"date":"2015-03-15T19:38:23","date_gmt":"2015-03-15T18:38:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.daniel-ritter.de\/blog\/?p=1621"},"modified":"2024-05-13T01:10:46","modified_gmt":"2024-05-12T23:10:46","slug":"rise-headphone-volume-in-cyanogenmod","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.daniel-ritter.de\/blog\/rise-headphone-volume-in-cyanogenmod\/","title":{"rendered":"Increase Headphone Volume in Cyanogenmod 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Being used to the extremely loud headphone volume of AIWA walkmen from the 1990s, my Android volume was always a bit too low for my ears.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to play around with CMs included &#8222;DSP Manager&#8220; but it never worked as I expected and I disliked to need an additional app to increase volume on my device.<\/p>\n<p>In Cyanogenmod headphone volumes are configured in <strong>\/system\/etc\/snd_soc_msm\/snd_soc_msm_2x<\/strong><br \/>\n(Maybe this will work in every recent Android distribution, no idea though, I am on CM12 Lollipop)<\/p>\n<p>Just edit this file and search for the stanzas called &#8222;Headphones&#8220; and &#8222;PROXY Rx Headphones&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Inside of those you will find &#8222;RX# Digital Volume&#8220; with a percentage value.<\/p>\n<p>Mine were set to 69.4%. I rose them to 75% and rebooted. Now my ears bleed.
